Today, another switch up!
Is there a part of the marketing funnel I’ve missed yet?
Now, onto a very… VERY important email.
Your welcome email… And we’re analysing one from none other than the guru of the email copywriting world…
Chris Orzechwoski.
The welcome email is your most important email…
Because it’s your chance to make a great FIRST IMPRESSION!
And that’s probably a lesson as old as time!

Anyway, let’s see how Chris makes his first impression count!
He opens up his email, with probably the best way to open up a first email…
Humour and personality.
From the first 10 seconds of reading, you know for sure that this guy knows how to write.
You know that his emails in the future will not be a "snore fest".
A little smile might even appear on your face.
Isn’t that just a GREAT first impression? I sure as hell think it is.
There’s an important lesson here.
The start of a welcome email should always aim to build know, like and trust with the reader.
You warm them up to the type of person you are. The uniqueness will make you stand out from the crowd.
Great
Now into the meat of the letter…

He knows his market. He knows what they want and why they have joined the newsletter.
So, he gets the reader nodding their head and saying “yes”, by speaking about their desires.
This gets them excited and engaged, and open to influence.
Oh, and who’s the guy that’s going to help them get what they want? Chris of course. Smart!

“Here’s how:”
Do you see how he’s tapping into their thoughts?
That’s the logical next question right?
(BTW, stay till the end and I’m going to give you a little welcome email cheatsheet!)
He then sets expectations… Emails every single day. Sometimes even twice.
This is VERY important. Because…
You want the reader to leave that email with no confusion in their mind. This will KILL their excitement.
Now, what’s the next question in the reader's mind… “WHY?”

And like a true expert, he explains why.
He uses the “reason why” (Go read the Gary Becivenga Ad breakdown to learn more about reason why copy) very effectively too.
Firstly, he uses it as a little brag… to create a little authority. He also uses it to repeat the reason they joined this email… to collect their "MAKE IT RAIN" ebook.
Secondly, he uses a logical argument to get them engaged and in agreement… He’s an email marketer so what else would you expect?
I mean, literally not a single word is wasted in the 2 paragraphs above. Truly masterful stuff.
And then smoothly, he moves to the close…

He repeats the main benefit of being on his newsletter.
He gives them an “out”. Never forget this in your welcome email… As I said, in a moment I will give you a checklist on what to include.
And, he also asks for a small favor. A reply to the email.
This is done for two reasons.
One, it helps with email deliverability.
Two, a reason not explained by him, is that it identifies his STAR prospects. The highly engaged customers.
Very important.
And then, he delivers what they came for.
This welcome email is a perfect representation of an INCREDIBLE first impression.
It has it ALL.
Wait, what’s that?
What’s “ALL” you ask?
Let me show you:
A welcome email should:
Build know like and trust. SHOW your personality. Let the reader know a bit about who you are, get them familiar to YOU!
Have some qualifications there. You don’t want just about anyone in your list do you?
Set expectations for the future. What should they expect from your emails?
Include a promise… some sort of benefit to the reader. Why should they read your future emails?
Tell them your reason “WHY” you’re doing this. Why did you start the newsletter or your business?
Deliver their FREE lead magnet… Obvious one eh?
Include an unsubscribe button and note!
And, if you want, like Chris, you can include links to your product at the end:

And, you may have guessed it!
That's exactly what I will do!
If you want to learn more about funnels, and how you can use them in your business to EXPLODE your conversions.
